meetsafer.com: scam or legit?

I found this site when I googled that site and it seemed to indicate there was a post about meetsafer.com on these forums but when I clicked on it, it said there was no matching post. So now does anyone here know if meetsafer.com scams you when you sign up, and if so, how?

Set up an email account just for spam and get an internet phone number from k7.net and then join with that information. I dont see where it says that it cost any money and if it does then buy a cheap visa debit card from walgreens or somewhere.

I second that. Buy $20 per-paid credit card.

Re: meetsafer.com: scam or legit?

Hey!

I need a helping opinion on this badly!

Met this one chick on the net, who posted an ad on craigslist, to which I responded. Now she wants to meet up but said I should make an account on hookupsafer.com (an affilliate site of meetsafer.com), so she can see I'm not a scammer or sexual offender. (She actually believs the "screening" this page makes is legit!). So I need some help badly! Do you guys think that is just a trick? Or should I believe her and the page is legit???

Please help ASAP. Cuz shes only here for a short period of time :(

Sounds like clever marketing for the website.

Re: meetsafer.com: scam or legit?

meetsafer is a full out scam. There is nothing safe about it. They will take your card and your money and they will not cancel your account no matter what method you use. There is nothing safe about them.
Anybody who contacts you from craigslist or elsewhere and says they have an account you need to join for free is not being truthful. Flag them for fraud and move on. Once they have you cc # you are fully screwed. Yourf only recourse is to cancel your account and file a dispute through your cc company. The dispute may or may not be resolved. Either way you are going to lose a lot of money. Stay away from any of these sites.

Re: meetsafer.com: scam or legit?

Ok, figured I would post up this for my first post here.

I figured I would check out the craigslist personals (aside fro this all kinds of horrific details there). I got a response from two people, both with the same picture for these sites

http://www.safedate-now.com/
meetsafer.com

Obviously fraud, so I went through the full signup up to the point where they wanted a credit card then used a prepaid card to see what would happen. Once you sign up you can avoid the additional sites by clicking a checkbox. The billing site appears to be repuatable at least. We as reputable as a porn billing site can be. Once you have an account the original sites do not even exist. When I tried to find some contact email for them, there is none.

So here we have egg and scam; egg bacon and scam; egg bacon sausage and scam; scam bacon sausage and scam; scam egg scam scam bacon and scam; scam sausage scam scam bacon scam tomato and scam;

Re: meetsafer.com: scam or legit?

While I can't vouch for whether or not meatsafer is a scam, I know that the person who emailed me through c-list was not the girl in the picture she sent.

I have a very good memory for faces and I've seen the exact same picture on c-list postings in Portland - some twenty-five hundred miles from where I am now.

So I click on your link to safedate and what should come up? The picture from the email "she" sent me and a line asking if she had sent me. Claimed her name is Asia and confirmed my memory, because the second picture is definitely one I saw in P-town in c-list.

Excuse me, but all of the "chicks" that advertise on CL are prostitutes. Now if you click on the link you provided, I don't think an honorable and wholesome girl would be showing her gazoombas and her nookieloo all over the net regardless if the site is called safer or not.

Sometimes I actually wonder if anyone was born with an ounce of common sense. I don't think they are but that it's a learned thing. It's obvious that a lot of people never obtain any form of common sense because they've never learned anything in the first place. Take it from an old geezer...if you're that hard up for a chunk of girlie-goop, just hit a bar and buy one of the drunk ones another shot. You'll most likely score in the restroom or the backseat of your Yugo and it will cost you a lot less.

They are there, but not all are hookers. I've met quite a few girls that are normal and just tired of the bar scene. Some just wanted to hang out, some wanted more long term relationships. Of course I also met some homeless girl wanting a place for her and her two kids to sleep that wasn't a car, but that's a another story all together.

The overall fallout from my testing here was no charge on the prepaid. This company is pretty blatantly feeding on the poor lonely naive guys with no game, and the internet illiterate that don't understand how webpayments work or read the fine print. Isn't the point of this site to expose scams and protect the stupid..I mean innocent.

Oh, and I have a nice new Honda now, not a Yugo.

Re: meetsafer.com: scam or legit?

Meet safe . com is a scam. Craig's list has more and more each day. They will post a babe to good to be true and they are. The scam starts when they send you a link to confirm your age requiring a credit card to get a special pass word to quote protect you and them. Then and only then after inputting a credit card to a web site and you will have there contact info. And the scam hits your credit card and they get commissions for signing you up for that site. That hooker Mandy can not be in Albuquerque and Hawaii at the same time. Guess what? They never were in those towns. These sites pay them $50 per membership. That hottie is some guy or hag typing emails and instant messages laughing out loud. Working each prospect for that commission. Pure scam. Bottom line do not fall for the Craig's list scam

Re: meetsafer.com: scam or legit?

Hello smart surfers! I do not know for sure if meetsafer.com is a scam, I believe it is. And for sure the "advertised as" SSL credit card registration page is not a SSL page! First and foremost the site claims to be a SSL secure site though the page you enter Credit Card info is not a SSL at all! Pay close attention fellow surfers, a true SSL encrypted page is a https:// page not a http://. Further a SSL page should generate a Lock Symbol in the corner of your browser. I too was contacted by a lady on craigslist and she requested I verify through "meetsafer". Scroll down to the other posts here, her name just happenned to be Asia too and what an attractive picture! Don't put any credit card in there! She was very convincing and I almost tried the pre-pay too, but I'd be a fool, the http is a dead giveaway!

Re: meetsafer.com: scam or legit?

dbl6015, you havent a clue what youre talking about. YES IT IS SECURED. THE form is secured. OPEN IT IN A NEW WINDOW AND YOULL SEE FOR YOURSELF. It is iframed form, and the page thats iframed is https ssl. So before you blurt out bs, check your facts.

And remember people, ANYONE CAN TYPE ANYTHING ON HERE!!!

IT DOESN'T MAKE IT TRUE!!!

These forums are a cest pool for it. Some people judge a website on the whois info and whether or not a phone number is listed. and thats just plain stupid. MOST phone numbers are private now adays and WHOIS means nothing, anyone can type anything they like on it.

I'm so sick of people coming on this forum talking smack when they haven't a clue. I am an online dating guru and I have met many girls on meetsafer.com, happily been a member over 3 months now and get a girl about every saturday. They are all young and not looking for a relationship, which is perfect for me. Sure it gives you a free trial to porn, but who cares? The website has gotta make money some how and EVERY website has a "catch" and its not like you are locked into it or anything.

Oh and its not a scam because YOU didn't read tos. That's youre own fault and thats just stupid. Those girls on there are real and willing. And VERY FEW are escorts.

Take it from someone who is actually a member instead of people lurking on this forum who doesn't know jack and is just trying to act like they do and misjudge based on FALSE assumptions.
