Walmart Scam?

Hi guys,

Is this a scam? I received this email today. Checked with my credit card company and there was no transaction done. Whats the point then for a scammer to send this email?

See email below. It is from "customercare@walmart.com". Attached in that email is a pdf zip file.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for ordering from our internet shop. If you paid with a credit card, the charge on your statement will be from name of our shop.

This email is to confirm the receipt of your order. Please do not reply as this email was sent from our automated confirmation system.

Are you trying to say that there is a zip file attached that supposedly has a pdf file in it? It could be a virus, maybe, in the zip file?

Re: Walmart Scam?

I agree with chimpsnest.
Several questions, though:
Where the email read "Payment by credit card" was the type of card and last 4 digits
shown?
Did you receive the "email with tracking information" ?
I tried punching in that Order ID on walmart.com; couldn't verify it without creating an account.
Contact Walmart security- as your good deed for the day, if for no other reason.

Re: Walmart Scam?

This is obvious some type of scam. I don't t hink Walmart or any legit company will send you a zip file without informing you.

I would never open a file that I was not expecting because it is most likely a virus or some type of scam.
